Spring Tennis Lessons

Description: Learn the fundamentals of the game of tennis from Coach Carmella Rupp. This eight week program will teach participants proper grip, fore-hand, back-hand, and serving techniques as well as allow players to hone their skills by playing matches.

CPR For The Professional Rescuer (April 25th Class)
Description: A course designed for rescue personnel, lifeguards, nurses and other health workers. This course teaches basic life support skills as well as 2-person CPR, the use of a pocket mask, modified airway techniques, bag-valve mask, and other skilled procedures. Required for nurses, athletic trainers, rescue personnel, lifeguards, and other health care workers. Be sure to bring your pocket mask if you have one, or masks are available for purchase.

Community CPR and First Aid Class (April 25th Class)
Description: Would you know what to do if someone close to you needed CPR or First Aid? Learn how to save a life and treat people in need of medical attention. You will learn all the aspects of Adult Child and Infant CPR, choking and how and when to use the AED. Upon completion a two year CPR certification card will be issued.

Spring After School Golf Class
Golf Class

Description:This golf program is for ages 5-15 years of age and is an ideal way to introduce children to the sport of golf. Program will teach the basic technique of the swing such as grip, posture, stance, and ball striking, putting and chipping using fun training methods. Rubber training balls are used for class and clubs are not required. Space is extremely limited to six students per session. For more information please call Linda at 914-879-0008.

Child and Babysitting Safety Class
Babysitting Safety Class

Description:The New Windsor Recreation Department is pleased to offer the American Safety & Health Institute Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Program.  This program covers child safety and basic care techniques for infants and children, as well as CPR.   (Bring your lunch)

  • Learn safety practices, CPR and first aid procedures for children and infants 
  • Topics include child safety, play, feeding and emergencies
  • Receive Nationally Recognized Student Completion Card and CPR Certification

Ralph Petrillo Co-ed Summer Basketball Program

Description: A five week twice a week co-ed basketball league held at San Giacomo Park Basketball Courts. Divisions are divided by age:

Counselor In Training Program
CIT Program

Description: Have you ever dreamed of being a summer camp counselor? Start getting ready early by applying for the Town of New Windsor Summer Camp Counselor In Training Program.  This is a six week program that meets from 9:00am to 4:00pm and the candidate must be in attendance on a regular basis. We are only choosing a limited number of candidates this year for each park to be our CIT’s so don’t hesitate fill out and submit your application as soon as possible.  Our CIT’s will be trained in child and adult CPR, First Aid, and Leadership Skills.  They will assist our camp counselors in the direct supervision of campers and with the daily operations of camp. They will also go on a trip yet to be determined.   (Must fill out CIT application and interview for position to be selected) Applications need to be in by Friday June 5th, 2015 to be considered. If chosen for the program you must pay fee of $300, but if program is completed and all requirements are fulfilled the CIT will receive a check of $150 that will be mailed out at the end of the program.
